I must point out that Jason at the legendary Scar Stuff blog recently posted "The Haunting," an extremely rare recording from Gayle House Records which was hawked in beautiful comic book ads like the one pictured above.
Hearing this was yet another childhood dream fulfilled and even after decades of built up curiosity, I'm not at all disappointed. Side one features a wonderfully unique sequence that rises above your standard spooky sound FX records. So don't hesitate, head on over and get haunted!
Thanks again Jason. This Halloween season just got a whole lot happier.

Anyone remember an old record ('60s?) called "The Blood Banshee"? I don't remember if it was part of a compilation or a stand-alone record. It had great slurping blood-sucking sounds!
Swell post! I hadto turn the volume down lest the neighbors call the cops, this is so horrifying!
I totally had this record and it was fantastic! If I'm not mistaken, "The Blood Banshee" was on the other side. I can practically recall the entire thing from memory!
"It's trying to get out the window!"
"It will not escape!"
Arrrrrooooooaaaaarrrrrr!!
This kept me and my friends up for weeks!!
"The Stake! Give me the Stake!!"
Have to find a copy of it!

i've found the audio of this record on youtube. go to gayle house, and it is the site, the gayle house. gayle house is the company that made the record as you can see on the order form above. it is hilarious to listen to beacause it is so corny.
