FOOTAGE FROM TULSA FOOT SCREENING

For those of you who couldn't make it to the Tulsa premiere of Foot: Phantom of the Forest at Defcon '08 here's a quick look at what you missed! If you study the audience closely, you can see my friends Stephen and Jon, who gave me a ride to the convention center. Thanks again guys!

  1. Kirk-

I am SOOO sorry for laughing so hard. I wasn't expecting that! Ha.

I wish I could have been there.

  2. Not at all! That's what it's there for; I laughed about it all day. Thank goodness I had other business in t-town that day.
Apparently there was a huge Anime convention next door that took a massive bite out of attendance. At least that's what we keep telling ourselves.

  3. Oh geez, talk about tough moments at a con. Well, I guess as long as you can find the humor in it, though I think that would have knocked me pretty hard in the gut.

BTW, any idea when we'll be able to pick up a copy of Foot? I can't wait to take a gander at it.

  4. Shawn, I actually quite enjoyed the experience, with no hint of emotional discomfort. As I told my friends, if it's going to be bad, you want it to be as bad as it can possibly be. I was glad to have zero attendees as opposed to a handful. And that vast room emphasized the lack of people in a hilariously beautiful way.

The climax happened about ten seconds after that clip when I headed offstage (in the dark). I walked into a fancy "light show" light left over from a concert the night before, and it teetered off the 4-foot stage and crashed to the ground. It did not survive the fall. At that point I was especially glad that nobody showed up.

Anyway, they're still working on the who and how of selling the DVD/Wobbler packs. I'll post about it the moment I find out. (Hopefully within the next few weeks) Then you can reenact Defcon in your living room.
