Once again it's time to soak our brains in a warm tub of Halloween with thirty-one all-new, all-spooky blog entries. I fully intended to do something far less grueling than last year's Skeleton Countdown but somehow this year's endeavor has swelled into at least twice as much work. But I'm happy to put in the extra legwork if it means not having to think of new and amusing things to say about the nuances of plastic skeletons. While last year's edition had an extremely narrow focus, this round will feature more of a variety of treats for the eyes.. ephemera, toys, video.. your standard secret fun fare.
Other cool blogs are doing their own countdown too...
Branded in the 80s, John Rozum, Plastic Pumpkins, Neatocoolville , Drunken Severed Head, Senses Working Overtime, Distinctly Jamacan, All Eyes and Ears, Random Acts of Geekery, X-Entertainment, Frankenstein's Fun House, Mostly Ghostly, The Retropolitan, Jart In My Head and Wonderful Wonderblog. So with properly synchronized bookmarks or RSS reader you'll be able to take the edge off every October morning with some Halloweenish fun. See you tomorrow.
Topps Monster Initials thanks to Bubblegumcards.org
yay! Countdown 2007! Bring it on!
ReplyDeleteThose stickers sure bring back some memories. I think I still have a set somewhere. As a kid, I sent my doubles to Forrest J Ackerman as a donation to his museum. I wonder what he did with them.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to the rest of your countdown.
I wish Topps would throw monster fans a bone every now and then and release some new monster themed sticker sets again. Those initial stickers are so awesome.
ReplyDeleteI really need to find some of the Monsticker puffy stickers they put out in the early 80s as well.
Really looking forward to the moth of posts Kirk.
I'm aboard again too, and have my link to you for the first time this year. Glad to discover your blog! This looks like fun reading.
ReplyDeleteI love those Monster Initials. My brother and I had tons of them when we were kids. I'm doing Halloween posts on my blog also. Check it out if you can.
ReplyDeleteHi, I decided to jump on this bandwagon as well, although I got a bit of a late start... my own Halloween Countdown can be found at http://waffyjon.blogspot.com and is an extension of my "found on eBay" recurring feature!
